Ten businesspeople from Qatar drew up the first version of the Medicare Group’s blueprint in 1989. The idea of \u200b\u200bthe project was to construct of a 100-bed private hospital dedicated to pediatrics, obstetrics, and gynecology. In 1990, the founders received several hectares of land in Wadi Al-Sail area, courtesy of the Qatari government, to build a new healthcare facility that is currently located there, thanks to the kind support of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani.<\/p>

The Office of His Highness The Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the previous Emir of the State of Qatar, issued an Emiri Decree on December 17, 1995, signaling the founding of Al-Ahli Hospital, which is currently known as the Medicare Group Q.P.S.C. Under His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar’s sponsorship, the healthcare project attracted more attention, bringing in new investors and growing the original group of founders from ten to one hundred members. To complete founding proceedings and manage the project’s development, a founding committee headed by Mr. Abdul Rahman Eisa Al-Manaai was elected in 1996.<\/p>

After carefully reviewing the projectplan, the founding committee decided to build a multi-specialty hospital with 250 beds. The goal was to provide guests with an experience like that of an opulent five-star hotel by offering elite healthcare services in a calm and welcoming setting. In 2001, a big step was made to bring the hospital’s financial structure into compliance with Islamic principles and the Articles of Association. This was done after a new board of directors was elected, with H.E. Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani serving as chair. According to Islamic Sharia, the loan that was originally obtained for the hospital’s construction was converted into Islamic funding.<\/p>

Consequently, there was an increase in capital and the debt was entirelypaid. The hospital’s ownership completely changed to the investors by 2006.<\/p>

By January 1, 2004, the hospital’s equipment, which included the newest medical technology, was finished.
